Well now that I've been home from my New York City trip to the National Art Education Conference for a few weeks now, its time to look back and blog! First off, I've never been to NYC, and this trip was amazing. I am so fortunate for this experience, especially in my first year of teaching. It was exciting to see University of Illinois art eddies again as well as meet new, fellow art educators.
There was so much to learn/take in from all of the very informative sessions, listening to Chuck Close (totally awesome), and inspiring atmosphere, however, the greatest aspect I took in from NAEA was the chance to connect and have great conversations with many experienced and wonderful art educators. I still feel like I'm flying around trying to absorb as much as I can, and these individuals got it together. Such inspiration and role models honestly.
It was a short weekend, but left me with a great spark to finish up the school year and much to look forward too. I'm not gonna ramble on more, that will come when I start applying this knowledge to my teaching, but check out the PREZI below. Showed this in class and the students loved hearing and asking questions all about it!
